What is SIG Round 4?

The Slurry Infrastructure Grant is a capital grant for English livestock farmers to upgrade slurry storage and handling. Round 4, confirmed in early 2026, runs to a £74m fund with applications closing 30 September 2026. It funds new and replacement slurry stores, covers, agitation kit and slurry separators.

Key eligibility points.

  • Demonstrate at least 6 months' slurry storage capacity post-build, against your herd numbers (use the AHDB slurry calculator).
  • Concrete stores designed and built to SSAFO 2018, BS 5502-50 and BS EN 1992-3 with a minimum 20-year design life.
  • Environment Agency notified at least 14 days before construction (form WQE1).
  • Match-funding component — the grant contributes a share of eligible cost; the rest is on you or your bank.

The application timeline.

The scheme usually invites Expressions of Interest, then full applications, with conditional offers issued in tranches. Build typically has to complete inside 12–18 months of offer. Don't leave the supplier conversation to the back of that window — concrete lead times compress as everyone hits the same deadline.

How WCCP can help.

We have been casting slurry storage panels in North Devon for 55 years. For SIG Round 4 we are running a priority production schedule for grant-eligible jobs, with the paperwork pack already formatted to RPA expectations: structural calc, mix certificate, cube tests, declaration of performance, capacity statement.

Read our full SIG Round 4 guide for the deeper breakdown, or our pillar guide on slurry wall thickness for the design detail.

Deadline — 30 September 2026.

If you might apply, talk to us before the summer. Q3 2026 will be the busy quarter and we are batching grant orders by the week.
