WCCP cast level milking-robot bases for DeLaval VMS V300/V310 and Lely Astronaut A5/A5 Next, in C32/40 reinforced concrete to the manufacturer's drain-and-cable spec. Lead time 3-6 weeks; we work directly off the robot manufacturer's installation drawing and deliver to programme.

A milking robot base is typically cast in C32/40 concrete (BS 8500 grade), 250 mm (10in) minimum depth, with rebar to BS 4449. WCCP supplies bases drilled to manufacturer template for DeLaval VMS V300 / V310 and Lely Astronaut A5 / A5 Next, levelled to within 2 mm.

Manufacturer-specific precast bases for DeLaval VMS and Lely Astronaut. Vibration isolation, cast-in drainage, anchor pattern poured to the millimetre. C40/50 concrete, cast in our Holsworthy yard.

Lely A3 / A4 catalogue kit

Sump, surround and machine base.

The kit we supply for the Lely A3 and A4 milking robots consists of a sump, a surround and a machine base. The machine base is handed — there are different left-handed and right-handed versions.

Integrated V-channel and sump with socket connections for 110mm (4in) drain pipes
Surround:
Smooth-cast surround that frames the machine base
Machine base:
Handed (left or right) — specify when ordering

DeLaval VMS — built-in features

The only manufacturer of DeLaval VMS bases.

WCCP is the only precast manufacturer producing dedicated DeLaval VMS bases. Drainage and pipework cast in.

  • ·Integrated drain gully on clean-room side runs into the sump
  • ·Push-fit socket connections for 110mm (4in) soil pipe to three sides — flexibility for the drain run
  • ·50mm (2in) waste connector on cleanroom side for machine washout — runs into V-channel and sump
  • ·Drain gully also functions as the guide for finishing the clean-room floor at 300mm (1ft) below outside floor level
  • ·VMS machine fixes 75mm (3in) below outside floor level — keeps the machine floor level with the floor outside
  • ·Raised edge offset from the machine on the cow-shed side — easy angle-bracket fixing of the machine base
  • ·Once the VMS machine is in place the gap between machine and edge is grouted in

Which robots do you cast bases for? +

DeLaval VMS V300 and V310, and Lely Astronaut A5 and A5 Next, are catalogue. We hold each manufacturer's installation drawing on file and cast the base — anchors, drainage, conduits — to their published tolerance.

How do you handle vibration isolation? +

The base is cast as a separate slab, isolated from the building floor by a 25mm (1in) flexible joint and bedded on a 100mm (4in) compacted MOT Type 1. The robot manufacturer specifies the isolation detail; we cast it in. Cuts vibration transmission to neighbouring beds and stops the robot logging false fault codes.

Drainage — what do you supply? +

A 110mm (4in) uPVC outlet cast through the base with the fall pre-formed for the box layout. Centre fall for VMS, offset for Astronaut. We pour to the millimetre — robot makers are precise about this and a wonky base means a flooded box.

Can you supply a clean room base too? +

Yes — we cast the cleanroom slab and the robot base as a matched set, with a tanked floor gully separating them. See our clean-rooms page for the full spec.

What is the lead time? +

Standard robot bases run 3 to 4 weeks from drawing sign-off. We need the manufacturer's install drawing or commissioning pack before we cast — book the engineer in early so we are not waiting for it.
