V-Section Sand Channels & Slats.
Narrow at the base. Sand never sits.
What's a V-section sand-slurry channel?
What's a V-section sand-slurry channel? A precast slurry channel with a "V" cross-section — wide at the top, narrow at the base. The geometry keeps flow moving so sand bedding never settles out and blocks the channel. WCCP's range pairs with 3 m (9'10") diagonal slats and runs at 2% fall.
V-section precast concrete sand-slurry channels, 2950 × 1180 × 1180mm (9'8" × 3'10" × 3'10") (shallow variant 2950 × 1180 × 600mm / 9'8" × 3'10" × 2'0"), manufactured in compliance with applicable British Standards, in C40/50 sulphate-resisting concrete. The 2% fall design keeps sand moving with the slurry — no on-site sand recovery pit needed. Pairs with our 3m diagonal slats. Suits sand-bedded dairies. Where they go
Common applications.
Sand bedding is the gold standard for cow comfort, lying time and lameness reduction — but only if the slurry-and-sand handling underneath does its job. That is what this system is for.
- · Sand-bedded dairy housing — high-yielding herds
- · Robotic milking sheds where cow comfort drives lying time
- · Cubicle housing retro-fits switching from mat to sand
- · Mixed-bedding sheds (sand under cubicles, slurry under loafing)
- · New-build steel-frame dairy units to AHDB lying-comfort specification
- · Beef finishing pens with deep-bedded lying areas
- · Bull pens and isolation boxes needing high-flow drainage
