Slurry Storage.

SSAFO 2018-ready. Six-month capacity.

Precast slurry walls are SSAFO 2018-compliant, 95mm to 180mm thick (4in to 7in) at heights of 1.0m to 1.5m (3'3" to 4'11"), designed to Eurocode 2, with sulphate-resisting C40 up to C60 concrete.

WCCP precast slurry store walls are 95 mm, 145 mm or 180 mm (4in, 6in or 7in) thick, with the 180 mm panel able to stand in cantilever without posts, to the retained height your engineer specifies. Walls must be impermeable (k ≤ 1×10⁻⁹ m/s).

SSAFO 2018-compliant precast slurry storage. WCCP prestressed panels at 95mm, 145mm or 180mm (4in, 6in or 7in) thick at heights of 1.0m, 1.2m and 1.5m (3'3", 3'11" and 4'11"), with custom or 15' and 20' standard lengths. The 180mm Vertical Cantilever Panels can stand without supporting posts, to the retained height your engineer specifies. Mix matched to the exposure on the drawing.

Prestressed Panels

Three thicknesses, three heights.

95mm, 145mm or 180mm thick (4in, 6in or 7in) at 1.0m, 1.2m and 1.5m heights (3'3", 3'11" and 4'11"). Custom lengths to order, plus 15' and 20' standard lengths.

Thickness Heights available Lengths Typical use
95mm (4in) 1.0m (3ft3in), 1.2m (3ft11in), 1.5m (4ft11in) Custom + 15' & 20' standard Bund walls, transition panels, lower-load applications
145mm (6in) 1.0m (3ft3in), 1.2m (3ft11in), 1.5m (4ft11in) Custom + 15' & 20' standard Mid-size stores; cantilever heights reduced 0.3–0.4m (1ft–1ft4in) vs 180mm
180mm (7in) 1.0m (3ft3in), 1.2m (3ft11in), 1.5m (4ft11in) Custom + 15' & 20' standard Slurry stores; vertical cantilever, retained height by your engineer slurry retained

Vertical Cantilever Panels

No supporting posts required.

The 180mm panels retain to the heights below in cantilever — no supporting posts in the wall run. 145mm panels can be used in cantilever with retained heights reduced by 0.3–0.4m (1ft–1ft4in).

Service Retained height (180mm) Notes
Slurry retention To your engineer's design Tell us the retained depth and panel thickness specified
Silage with vehicle surcharge To your engineer's design Surcharge from the vehicles that will run against it

Where they go

Common applications.

From a small dairy adding 300m³ (10,590 cu ft) of capacity to an AD-feed store — same panels, same paperwork, same yard.

  • · New SSAFO 2018-compliant slurry stores for dairy units
  • · Above-ground rectangular and circular tank walls
  • · Reception pits and pre-store buffer tanks
  • · Slurry separation and lagoon containment walls
  • · Anaerobic digester feed pits and storage
  • · Beef and pig housing under-slat slurry channels

Sizing tool

How much slurry storage do you need?

Plug in herd size, animal type and storage months — we will translate it into an SSAFO-compliant volume, the WCCP panel system that fits, and a panel-count estimate. All compute is on this page; nothing leaves your browser.

Number of animals on the unit.

Storage-period rules sit under the Water Resources (Control of Pollution) (Silage, Slurry and Agricultural Fuel Oil) (England) Regulations 2010 (as amended) and the separate NVZ / Farming Rules for Water minimum storage-period requirements, which vary by animal type and whether your unit is in a designated Nitrate Vulnerable Zone (NVZ). Six months is a common dairy planning benchmark — check your own NVZ status and current requirements before finalising capacity.

Based on 1.1m annual rainfall (North Devon regional average). Rainfall is spread evenly across the year here — winter storage periods collect more, so treat this as a floor.

Indicative only. Final design is site-specific to Eurocode 2 with surcharge, freeboard and SSAFO 2018 capacity statement issued in the order pack.
