A stated priority

How we work safely.

A modern, purpose-built yard. Clear ownership. Standards that are audited. We take safety seriously — for our team, our visitors, and the drivers who pick up from us every week.

2023 onwards

A modern facility, designed for the work.

In 2023 we moved into a purpose-built precast facility at Chilsworthy, Holsworthy. Production buildings, batching plant, silos, water tower, workshops, offices — and 38 jobs created on a site engineered for modern precast manufacture.

The new yard separates pedestrian and vehicle routes, has fixed lifting points and gantries on the main casting beds, and modernised mould-handling. It's the single largest investment in safer working that WCCP has made — and it's the baseline on which everything else here sits.

How it works on the floor

Four things, everyday.

01

A purpose-built modern facility

Our Chilsworthy yard was opened in 2023 — purpose-built, with modern plant, dedicated walkways, segregated yard traffic and fixed lifting gantries. 38 jobs in a part of Devon that needed them, on a site designed for the work that gets done on it.

02

Clear ownership

Health and safety is managed by an external H&S consultant working with the management team. Risk assessments, method statements, toolbox talks and incident reporting are part of how the yard runs, not a paperwork exercise.

03

Standards, audited

Every product cast at WCCP is made to British and European standards (BS EN 14992, BS 8500-1:2023, BS EN 1992). Cube testing on every pour. Batch records kept on file and available on request.

04

Visitors, contractors and drivers

All site visitors sign in, are inducted to current PPE and traffic-management requirements, and are escorted in production areas. Drivers collecting from the yard have a documented loading plan.
