What we do for civils contractors — in plain English

WCCP cast precast concrete for civils contractors — retaining walls (king-post, L-block, cantilever), prestressed wall panels, box culverts, padstones, AD-plant tank components. Designed to BS EN 1992-1-1 (Eurocode 2), BS EN 14992 and BS 5400. Cast in North Devon and delivered UK-wide.

What we cast

The catalogue most contractors order from.

Six product families that cover most of the precast on a typical civils job. Specials and one-offs sit under bespoke — we do plenty of those too.

Standards we cast to

Conformity documentation on request.

We do not just hit the standards — we can supply the proof. On request, every panel comes with its conformity documentation, a mix certificate and a release-strength record.

  • ·BS EN 14992 — precast wall element specification, factory production control.
  • ·BS 8500-1:2023 — concrete mix designation and exposure classes.
  • ·BS EN 1992 (Eurocode 2) — design of concrete structures.
  • ·BS EN 13369 — common rules for precast concrete products.
  • ·BSI Kitemark — ready-mixed concrete to BS EN 206 / BS 8500-2.

Manufactured to BS EN 14992.

Common questions

What contracts managers ask.

Five questions we field most weeks from QS, design and site teams.

Are your prestressed panels CE / UKCA marked? +

We cast our prestressed panels to BS EN 14992 (precast wall elements). On request we supply the conformity documentation, the structural calculations, the concrete mix certificate and the strand release-strength tests — your site team gets a single PDF pack. Current CE/UKCA marking is confirmed per project at order stage.

Which mix designs do you use? +

We cast to BS 8500-1:2023 designated and designed mixes. Standard panels are C40/50 with sulphate-resisting CEM II/B-V or III/A binders depending on the exposure class. For ground contact and slurry contact we move to DC-3 or DC-4 designations. Mix certificates are available on request.

How fast can you turn a contract round? +

Catalogue panels are 2 to 4 weeks from drawing approval. Bespoke retaining systems and culverts run 6 to 10 weeks depending on detail. We hold programme-critical components in stock for our framework clients — talk to us early and we will phase production to match your sequence.

Can you design and cast to our engineer's scheme? +

Yes. Send us the GA, the loadings and the surcharge profile. Our in-house design team detail to Eurocode 2 (BS EN 1992), issue casting drawings for your engineer's sign-off, and only then go to mould. We carry CDP responsibility on bespoke elements where you need it.

Do you carry framework or principal-contractor pre-qualification? +

We supply Tier 1 and Tier 2 contractors across the South West. We will send our PQQ pack and insurance certificates same day. Email quotes@wccp.co.uk and ask for the civils pack.

Tender packs go straight to product pages: prestressed panels, retaining walls, culverts and box sections, padstones, vehicle inspection pits or bespoke civils. Specials and one-offs sit under bespoke.

Send us the drawing.

Email a GA, an outline schedule or a tender pack to info@wccp.co.uk — we will quote, detail and programme inside 48 hours.
