Farming Equipment & Technology Fund

FETF 2026 has closed. Get ready for 2027.

The Farming Equipment and Technology Fund (FETF) 2026 offers grants from £1,000 to £25,000 for productivity, slurry and animal-health items pre-listed on the published eligible items schedule. Several WCCP products are eligible (slats, panels, cubicles). The grant runs alongside the SIG; itemised invoices match the FETF format.

The 3 March – 28 May 2026 window is over. £50m of total funding was allocated. The next round is expected to open in spring 2027 — and the farms with quotes already in hand will be the ones funded.

A quick recap

FETF 2026 in 60 seconds.

The Farming Equipment and Technology Fund is the annual government capital grant for off-the-shelf items that improve productivity, animal health and slurry management. Unlike the larger SIG, FETF runs on a published-item-list model: only items on the list are funded, and you claim against a fixed grant amount.

The 2026 round had three themes — Productivity (£25m), Slurry & Nutrient Management (£15m) and Animal Health & Welfare (£10m). Concrete-related items appeared in all three, mostly through bases, pads and ancillary works to support eligible equipment.

How to prepare for FETF 2027.

  1. 01

    Audit your wishlist now

Walk the yard with a notebook. What kit is past it? What's on the next-round list? Note the makes and models.

  2. 02

    Pre-register your SBI

No SBI / CPH? Apply on the RPA portal — it can take six weeks and you'll need it ready on day one.

  3. 03

    Get quotes in writing

FETF claims need an itemised manufacturer quotation. We'll provide one valid for 6 months — refresh it once the 2027 list is published.

  4. 04

    Plan the concrete works

Robot pushers, separators and cubicle systems all need a level slab. Spec the base now — it's often the long-lead item.

  5. 05

    Sign up for grant alerts

gov.uk/government/news has the announcements. Or let us watch for you and ping you the day it opens.

  6. 06

Be ready to apply day one

FETF scoring rewards early submission. Have evidence, quotes and account details ready in a single folder.

Lessons from 2026

What stopped farms claiming this year.

Submitted on day 60

The Productivity theme oversubscribed inside three weeks. Late submissions were declined despite being eligible.

Wrong item code

Item codes change between rounds. A 2024 reference is not a 2026 reference. Always copy from the live list.

Missing concrete spec

Robot bases without a structural detail were rejected. We supply a stamped detail with every quote.

No CPH

Multi-holding businesses sometimes fund through the wrong holding. Each CPH is a separate ceiling.

Day-one checklist

Be ready for FETF 2027

  • I have an active SBI and CPH (or have applied).
  • I have a written wishlist of likely-eligible items.
  • I have a manufacturer quotation in writing for any concrete works.
  • I know which holding I'll claim against.
  • I've subscribed to grant notifications.

Common questions

FAQ

Has the FETF 2026 window closed? +

Yes. The Farming Equipment and Technology Fund 2026 application window ran from 3 March 2026 to 28 May 2026 and is now closed for new applications. If you submitted before the deadline, your claim period continues — but new enquiries should focus on FETF 2027.

How much funding was available in FETF 2026? +

The total fund was £50m, split into three themes. The Productivity & Slurry theme — most relevant to precast — received £30m. Grants ranged from £1,000 to £25,000 (Productivity) or up to £50,000 (Slurry / Animal Health & Welfare).

When will FETF 2027 open? +

No exact date has been confirmed. Based on the 2024–2026 cycle, expect a window between February and May 2027, with the published item list released roughly 6 weeks before opening. Register your interest with us and we'll alert you the day it goes live.

Which WCCP-related items have appeared on past FETF lists? +

Slurry separators, slurry covers, weeping-wall bases, calf hutches with concrete pads, automatic feed pushers (with concrete bases), and various silage clamp accessories. The exact list changes each round — never assume an item carries over.

How can I prepare for FETF 2027? +

Build a "wishlist" with quotes already in hand, get any planning paperwork moving early, and pre-register an SBI if you don't have one. The fund is first-come-first-served scoring on date of submission, so being ready on day one matters.
