Round 4 of the Slurry Infrastructure Grant offers between £25,000 and £250,000 per agricultural holding at a 50% intervention rate. We'll spec the precast, supply the paperwork and slot you into the manufacturing queue.

What's on offer
A 50% capital grant for above-ground slurry storage and supporting infrastructure.
Round 4 is the largest SIG round to date. £74m has been earmarked for English farms looking to upgrade slurry storage to meet the 6-month storage target embedded in the SSAFO 2018 regulations and the forthcoming Farming Rules for Water enforcement timeline.
The grant covers 50% of eligible capital costs between a minimum of £25,000 and a maximum of £250,000 per agricultural holding. You can apply once per holding in Round 4.

Who qualifies
SIG Round 4 eligibility in plain English.
You qualify if
- You're a registered agricultural business in England with an SBI and CPH.
- You produce slurry, digestate or anaerobic-digestion separated liquids.
- Your existing storage is below the 6-month requirement (or you're expanding the herd).
- You can fund the remaining 50% (own funds, bank lending or AHDB-backed).
- The work hasn't started — the grant cannot be retro-applied.
You don't qualify if
- You've already taken SIG funding for the same holding in a previous round.
- The proposed works are below the £25k floor or above the £250k ceiling.
- Construction has already begun before the grant offer is made.
- The land is in Wales, Scotland or Northern Ireland (separate schemes apply).
- You can't demonstrate compliance with planning and SSAFO at completion.

Get a WCCP quote
Send us the herd size, current storage and any drawings. We return a scheme-formatted itemised quotation with capacity calculations within 5 working days.

Submit a full application
Attach our quote, planning information and supporting evidence to the RPA portal. The portal opens for Round 4 in spring 2026.
- 04
Grant agreement
If approved, you sign a grant agreement setting out the maximum claim, completion date and reporting requirements.
- 05
We manufacture and deliver
Order with us within 2 months of grant offer to secure a manufacturing slot. We supply, deliver and (if specified) install.
- 06
Submit the claim
Once installed and commissioned, submit photographic evidence and our final invoice to the RPA. Payment lands in 4–8 weeks.
Avoid these

Starting work too early
Pouring concrete before the grant offer is signed makes the project ineligible. Wait for the offer letter.
Under-specified capacity
Six months of storage is the minimum. Round up — herd expansion plans bite later.
No planning trail
Even where permitted development applies, get a written confirmation from your LPA. The RPA asks for it.
DIY pricing
Hand-written estimates from local contractors aren't accepted. Use itemised manufacturer quotes.
Missing the rainwater plan
Clean-water separation must be specified, not assumed. We design it in from the start.
Late ordering
Manufacturing lead times stretch in summer. Order within 8 weeks of grant offer.

Do I need planning permission first? +
You do not need planning permission to apply, but the grant agreement requires you to obtain it before construction. Most slurry stores fall under permitted development for agricultural buildings, but check with your local planning authority — we can support your application with drawings and capacity calculations.
Can WCCP help with the application paperwork? +
Yes. We supply itemised quotations on the recognised scheme templates, capacity calculations to demonstrate the required 6 months of storage, and SSAFO 2018-compliant specification sheets. We do not submit the application on your behalf — that is between you and the RPA.
How long after grant approval do I have to complete the work? +
Round 4 grant agreements typically allow 18 months from offer to completion. We recommend ordering precast within 2 months of grant offer to secure manufacturing slots.
