An HB2 half-batter kerb cast to BS EN 1340 sits at 125 mm × 255 mm × 915 mm (5in × 10in × 3ft), takes HB44.5 highways loading on a 150 mm (6in) C32/40 backing, and holds the carriageway edge true to the setting-out for the design life of the road.

What standard do your kerbs meet? +

BS EN 1340:2003 — concrete kerb units. Class 1 abrasion resistance, Class 3 weathering, Class 1 bending strength as standard. Cast in C40/50 concrete to BS 8500-1:2023, with reinforcement designed to Eurocode 2. Manufactured under factory production control to BS EN 13369. Conformity documentation available on request.

Can they take HB44.5 highways loading? +

Yes — our HB2 and HB3 half-batter kerbs are designed for HB44.5 highways loading per DMRB CD 532, set on a Class S granular bed with C32/40 backing concrete to a minimum 150mm (6in). The HB3 profile is the standard for trunk-road and A-road work where heavier wheel loads occur regularly.

Do you cast quadrants and transitions? +

Yes — quadrant external-angle units, transition kerbs from full-height to dropped, splay units for crossovers and bespoke radius units to your setting-out drawing are all cast in-house. Send the kerbline GA and we will set out the run with named pieces — straights, transitions, drops, quadrants — so the gangs install kit-of-parts on site.

What about Kassel kerbs for bus stops? +

We supply Kassel-profile kerbs to TfL standard detail for bus-stop and bus-lane boarding edges. The 180mm (7in) Kassel face gives the bus driver a tight visual reference and provides level boarding for accessibility. Cast on order — talk to engineering with the location and bus-route specification.

Catalogue HB2, HB3 and bullnose kerbs ship in 2 to 3 weeks. Bespoke radii, transitions and Kassel units run 4 to 6 weeks. Highways orders are batched around possession dates — give us the works programme early.
