Send us your engineer's drawing, the manufacturer schedule, the cable-entry pattern and the geotechnical data — we will return a shop drawing for sign-off and a programme that matches your DNO outage window.

How do you size a transformer or generator plinth? +
We work to the manufacturer schedule — Schneider, ABB, Siemens for transformers; Cat, Cummins, FG Wilson for gensets. The plinth has to take the static weight, the seismic spread footing, the cable-entry duct pattern and any oil-bund detail required by BS EN 61936-1. We send a drawing for engineer sign-off before we cut moulds.
What concrete grade do you cast? +
C40/50 to BS 8500-1:2023 is our standard for plinths and equipment bases — exposure XC4/XF1 minimum. For substations we add sulphate resistance (DC-3 / DC-4 if the geotechnical report calls for it). All cast under BS EN 13369 Factory Production Control with cube tests at 7 and 28 days.
Can you cast in earthing, conduits and bund kerbs? +
Yes — every penetration, conduit, earth-rod sleeve, lifting socket and bund upstand cast in to engineer drawings. We coordinate with the principal contractor and DNO design engineer on a shop drawing before mould cutting. Late changes after mould-cut are chargeable.
Do you deliver and install? +
We deliver UK-wide on flatbed or low-loader and offload with our own HIAB up to 12 tonnes. Above that we coordinate a site mobile crane with the principal contractor. We can supply, deliver, set on a pre-prepared sub-base and grout-bed in one visit on most substation programmes.
What is the lead time? +
Civils-grade plinths run 4-6 weeks from drawing sign-off. DNO substation plinths to standard frameworks ship in 3-4 weeks if the schedule matches our existing moulds. Bespoke geometries — non-standard sizes, integrated bunds, complex penetration patterns — typically 6-10 weeks.
