The cattle auto weigh scale has been developed to allow regular monitoring of the weight of each animal within the herd without the need to manually operate a cattle crush during operation.

The unit comprises of two heavy duty load bars supporting a durable concrete walkway with a non slip hoof friendly floor. The concrete supports galvanised steelwork forming side walls which incorporate mounting points for a large EID ear tag reader aerial, EID reader box, 12V battery backup and computer weigh scale. The brains of the system are securely held behind a steel door to prevent interference from the more inquisitive members of the herd.

The exit of the weigh passage is fitted with two half width non return gates to prevent livestock entering the unit from the wrong end. As the animals pass through the weigh passage the ear tag ID number is stored along with the weight reading for the animal. Multiple units can be installed at key points within a farm with the weigh scale computer, EID reader box and battery switched between units to allow weight monitoring of separate groups of animals without the expense of purchasing a full set of equipment for each weigh passage installed.

The overall dimensions of the weigh scale are 1925mm high, 2060mm long and 1170mm wide. The full unit weighs approximately 1300kg and can be positioned with forks from the side or using four legged chains and threaded lifting loops screwed into lifting eyes cast into the floor of the units.
